Target market

The CIRRUS 3 is designed to meet high performance demands which means that it will appeal to all ambitious cross-country and competition pilots.

Design

The CIRRUS 3 has benefited from the knowledge gained from the successful competition wing, the STRATUS 4. The CIRRUS 3 has the same elaborate design with full diagonal ribs and a line geometry which reduces drag and is thus conducive to efficiency.
The CIRRUS 3 can be ordered with competition lines made from unsheathed aramid lines.
A design tool utilised exclusively by SWING was used to optimise the profile, the trimming and the resulting flight performance and stability of the CIRRUS 3. During design, many behaviour patterns were put through computer simulation. The result is a high-performance glider with excellent ascent and glide characteristics combined with sensitive handling.
Very precise production specifications for the manufacture of the CIRRUS 3 result in a product with high aerodynamic quality, which gives increased performance, particularly with elaborately constructed paragliders.

Workmanship

For this glider, SWING has once again used the tried and tested combination of the very light (44g/m²), silicone-coated Perseverance PN 6 for the top surface and Toray WT 7 for the bottom surface.
This combination of fabrics ensures that the CIRRUS 3 also has high UV resistance and is thus well-suited for long flights and rigorous use in cross-country flying and in competition.

Flight behaviour

The most outstanding features of the CIRRUS 3 are, firstly, the very sensitive and precisely defined handling, which gives the pilot constant feedback during flight and, secondly, an excellent glide potential throughout the speed range.
Months of fine tuning in collaboration with internationally recognised test pilots and competition pilots ensure that we have achieved a balance between all features which are essential for performance-oriented flight , e.g. its behaviour in thermic conditions.
The safety characteristics of the CIRRUS 3 are excellent for this class of glider (see DHV Testreport) and assist pilots whatever their ambitions.

Special designs

In general there are two ways to individualise the paraglider,

  • firstly by a special design (see below) and,
  • secondly, by adding an advertising message to it.
